Shipping Clerk
Basic Purpose
Responsible for monitoring and verification of FSQA and Distribution parameters throughout the distribution and cold storage process ensuring strict adherence to the company’s written HACCP program and shipping compliance. Recommends and oversees proper corrective actions are initiated and documented where required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Monitor the temperature of products in the blast freezer
2. Process the QA hold tags
3. Complete the vet inspection reports
4. Enter PO’s in the receiving module
5. Process shipping and receiving paperwork
6. Monitor report 10 and communicate issues with the plant
7. Run reports as needed
8. Check-in drivers
9. Check cleanliness of trailers
10. Verify Load sheets
11. Fill-out any customer request forms
12. Handle miscellaneous office related issues as needed
13. Keep office area tidy and clean
14. Perform other related responsibilities, as needed, to support Company objectives.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- High school diploma and 2 years of Shipping or Warehouse experience and Clerk or Administrative experience required. Quality Assurance experience orknowledge a plus.
- Knowledge of or ability to acquire knowledge of poultry or food industries
- Working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office.
- Strong interpersonal skills; ability to communicate and work effectively with a variety of people.
- Basic math skills including ability to accurately add, subtract, multiply and divide. Capability of working with and calculating percentages.
- Ability to read, write and communicate in English.
- Ability to establish and maintain productive working relationships with coworkers, supervision, and USDA personnel.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and make reasonable and accurate decisions.
- Analytical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills, ability to assess observations and communicate results.
- Ability to multi-task
- Able to adhere to specifications.
